Chemical King aka Condo Arlik was born on the colony world, Phlon. During his birth, the hospital was rusted. The physicians realized that Arlik was the catalyst for these rapid oxidations and isolated him. Unable to cause harm to anyone, Arlik spent most of his life studying chemistry so that he could learn how to control his power. Once Arlik mastered it, he was released into the world and was inspired by the Legion of Superheroes to use his power for good.

He was among the Legionaries who fought in the final stand against Brainiac 1.0.
Powers[]
Chemical King has the powerr to act as a human catalyst. He can speed up or slow down any chemical reaction; for example, he can cause iron to rapidly rust, or even burst into flames from rapid oxidation. His powers can affect the chemical reactions in the human body, rendering an opponent unconscious from shock, but take several seconds and can only focus on a single opponent at a time. Late in his career, Chemical King displayed the ability to change energy reaction rates as well, causing batteries to drain of power and force fields to decay.

- Legion Flight Ring: Like all Legionaries Chemical King wears a flight ring. It allows him self propelled flight and protection in the vacuum of space.
