Dawnstar is a member of the Legion of Superheroes.

History[]

Origin[]

Located in the center of the galaxy, Starhaven was colonized by Earth in the 23rd century. Centuries later, in the 27th century, it became a spiritual gathering place for Native Americans. After feats of bioengineering, the people of Starhaven were born with wings and the ability to track lifeforms and objects across light years of distance and through interstellar space. Mistrider and Moonwalker started a business of guiding ships out of hazardous space sectors. Their daughter, Dawnstar, became the company's top guide because her abilities were above average than the rest. She wears an eight pointed ornament on her forehead that references Venus, the morning star.

While performing a job for R.J. Brande, he was impressed and suggested her to apply for the Legion of Superheroes. Although she is naturally aloof, Dawnstar was accepted but chose not to take on a codename.

Dark Victory[]

She was among the Legionaries who fought in the final stand against Brainiac 1.0.

Powers[]

Dawnstar's unique powers include the ability to track life forms and objects across light years of distance and through interstellar space. She can survive in deep space for long periods of time without a spacesuit or viable atmosphere, by generating a self-sustaining environmental forcefield. In deep space, she can travel at faster-than-light speeds. In an Earth-normal atmosphere or in a sizeable gravity well, her speed is diminished.

Equipment[]

  • Legion Flight Ring: Like all Legionaries Dawnstar wears a flight ring. It allows her self propelled flight and protection in the vacuum of space.
